How Do I Take Care Of My New Paint Job?

Allow your new paint to "cure" for at least 90 days before applying wax. Do not wash your car in the sun, the sun magnifies water drops, which can permanently damage your finish. Also, avoid brush-style car washes, as they can scratch your paint.

Use only detergents designed for automotive use, avoid dish or laundry detergents. Do not dry wipe your vehicle, the dust and dirt are abrasive and could scratch the finish. For at least 30 days avoid gravel road, chipping occurs more easily on fresh paint.

Wash your car often when exposed to salt and other ice-melting chemicals. Also, gasoline, bird droppings, tree sap, oil, antifreeze, transmission fluid, and windshield washer fluid can permanently damage your finish if they are not washed off immediately.
